Lovely holiday - some improvements would make it excellent We had a lovely holiday here. I always try to be honest when writing reviews so my views are obviously subjective to what is important to my family. Starting at check in. The queues are ridiculous and it takes ages once you get to the front. After a long flight this is the last thing you need. This also makes it hard to speak to anyone at reception during your holiday as most of the time there is a queue. My daughter was without her wristband for 24 hours as it snapped and the desks were constantly busy. We went to a lady at guest services who told us to queue in the check in queue. She was shocked when I declined to stand there in another queue. Very strange that she could not just get a new one as that is all they did at the check in desk. The rooms are lovely. The beds are comfortable and our room has been cleaned every day with fresh towels and the mini bar restocked. For some reason, the shower is very small considering how large the bathroom is. But the big bath is lovely after a day in the sun. The mini bar was restocked every day. The pool area and beach are excellent. Plenty of sun beds on the beach and you can choose to be in the quiet part or the part where all of the activities take place. The pool bars are disappointing. The queues for drinks are long and there is only one bar person at each which is really frustrating especially when all you want is water. The only place to serve yourself water is at the beach and juice bar and even then you have to ask for a cup. I really think they need water stations all over the resort. The soft drinks are served from 2 litre bottles and are always flat and tasteless with or without ice. Take the ones from the mini bar as they are marginally better. I would say that 50% of the staff are lovely. The rest are miserable and really look like they don’t want to be there. They would always serve Spanish speaking people before they served us. Numerous times I had to call them out at the bars and say that we were there first. The buffet restaurant food is very good. Lovely variety and presented beautifully. Shame about some of the guests who think it’s ok to let their children use their hands to pick up food. You are served drinks at your table but once again the service isn’t great and we were sometimes waiting 15 minutes to just get water. We went to all of the restaurants. The Mikado is a must and the Steakhouse is good. The Italian and Tapas were average with varying levels of service. We absolutely hated that guests were allowed to play their own music out loud around the pool, beach and on balconies. Honestly why do people think that others want to listen to their music? Same goes for people who let their children play games and watch TV on phones and tablets out loud. This is what AirPods and headphones are made for! Security needs to be stricter on this. My husband thought that the coffee in the coffee shop was lovely and we ended up buying some. The girls that served in there were extra miserable for some reason! The Michael Jackson and Beatles show are worth watching. The other shows are ok. There were activities to join in with all day. We went on three trips booked through Tui. We went to Coco Bongo which was really fun but mad! We went to Monkey Land and also did the buggies which was excellent. And we also did a half day boat trip which included lunch which was the best boat trip we had ever done. All of three trips were excellently organised. All in all we had a nice time with the highlights being the comfort of the room, the quality of the food and the trips we went on.

Amazing! Cherlin was polite and accommodating. She had the softest hands and knew just what I needed. She also made sure to ask if I was ok along the Massage. Would deffo recommend if you need a relaxing time. The spa is also well air conditioned. Thanks for an amazing service.

Excellent vacation Excellent hotel. Very friendly employees, very good service, good food and great cocktails. The deluxe room with two beds was exactly what we needed as a family (1 adult and two teenagers). The beach is paradise. We will definitely come back.

We loved this place! My family had a wonderful time here. The entertainment staff, King Kong and Richard, were amazing and kept us busy by asking us to do activities and play games. Brian, Miguel and Luz made check in for the 13 of us quick and easy. Gizelle, Crystal, and Ruth at guest services were very helpful and helped us set up our birthday package for the birthday girl. We loved how much there was to do here. Specifically that there was something to keep everyone involved between the show and the disco opening. We had such a fun time and recommend this hotel!

Very happy with our stay We are at the end of the first week of our two week holiday at Catalonia (the family side). We were a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but had nothing to worry about. We are having the best time! I don’t understand the negative reviews about rude staff as everyone has been so friendly and the service has been excellent. The lady who cleans our room does a great job. We’ve had phone calls asking if everything is okay and when we asked for a couple of extra pillows they arrived straight away. We prefer the buffet by the pool and the staff always great us with a friendly hola and have our drinks ready waiting for us by the time we are back with our food. Breakfast and lunch have good choices. Booking the restaurants has been easy and even though we are a larger group we can always get a reservation for the next day. The Italian and Japanese are our favourites. Bars are also excellent and drinks have all been perfect. The pool and beach are amazing and there are so plenty of sun-beds and shade. The ones at the front go by about 8/9am but there are others free no matter what time you come down. The beach is cleaned of seaweed every morning and the sea is beautifully clear. The grounds are stunning and we love seeing the ducks and turtles. Yes there are vendors but they are not overly pushy. A polite no thanks is all that is needed. We booked a couple of trips with a vendor on the beach (Gucci Man) and we have great experiences at a good price. We booked a privilege room, which is close to the pool and beach. Air conditioning works great. Fridge is cold enough and filled every day. We are across from the pearl beach club but we don’t hear the music late. We learnt a little Spanish before coming - just the basics such as hello, thanks, please, etc and the staff appreciate it (and help us with our pronunciation!). A few tips are also appreciated, which we have been happy to give as the service has been great. Would definitely return!
