Good Stay & Great Location Clean, sleek, modern room. Very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly enough. Fantastic walkability and close to public transit. The only con was they restricted access to the balconies. I’m assuming due to the upcoming DNC, which is understandable. Would stay again.

Modern and Well Located. Needs a little TLC... I chose the Eurostars hotel specifically for the view of the city and it did not disappoint. Our corner Panoramic King room on the 24th floor was smaller than what I was expecting but adequate for a short stay. It was very clean with a modern industrial vibe. The hallways are quite dark. The view from our room straight up State St. was EPIC day and night. The bed was plush, comfy, double sheeted and had soft lofty pillows. The bed and bath linens were really nice quality. Cheap one-ply toilet paper and no bathroom amenities; so weird for the price point (imho). The room is showing some wear and tear. Not a deal breaker but the upholstered chair should be replaced as its a bit tattered and the cushion has seen way better days. Our bathroom was nothing special and a little tight with an open concept shower and communal bath products (NOT a fan). We were not into the “peek-a-boo” shower (and toilet; yikes!) at ALL. It had a curtain you could pull across the glass in the bed/main room but privacy is not guaranteed. Not only that, when you turn on the bathroom light during the night or early morning, the entire room gets illuminated and there’s no way around it. I don’t understand this design decision? There were light filtering as well as black out blinds on all the windows and the windows were remarkably clean. The black out blinds were about 90% effective. The mini fridge was cold and we could add a few of our personal drinks and snacks. We had an in-room coffee maker and the WiFi was good. We witnessed a drone stalking the hotel windows which was completely intentional and creepy but that can happen anywhere these days. Reception was polite but curt. The bellmen were GREAT. They were welcoming and helpful as was housekeeping. The location of the hotel is EXCELLENT and perfect for a downtown Chicago experience; close to many restaurants, bars and shopping. Easy access to all things in the city. Uber from/to O’hare was ~$60. There are convenience stores and pharmacies nearby; most close at 7pm. There’s a lovely bar and restaurant adjacent to the lobby. Very cool artwork in the lobby… We travel to Chicago often and have stayed in many beautiful hotels throughout the years. This was a very nice hotel but would not clear my top 5. I doubt we would choose it again until they give it a bit of a refresh. P.s. Do consider Quartino Ristorante just steps from the hotel. WOW. Shocked we had never heard of it but so happy we know about it now! Delish! Still thinking about the yummy meal and cocktails we enjoyed. Just sayin...

High quality boutique hotel. Got a panoramic suite and it provided a very nice view of the city. Decor was modern and the bed was very comfortable. Their shower was one of those modern ones without a door but it was HUGE so not much water splashed out onto the bathroom floor. WiFi was super fast. Heating unit worked great. Employees were very polite and almost always greet you when you walk by in the lobby. The attached bistro had great food too. There were a couple things which kept me from rating Eurostars 5 stars. I was approached multiple times for money within 1 block of the hotel. The neighborhood seemed sketchier than when I was staying on Michigan Ave. just a few blocks away. Also, the people across the hall from me were fighting and screaming all night long. The smell of marijuana outside their room was overpowering. Too bad it didn't mellow them out. LOL.

Area not safe after dark. The hotel itself was fine. We picked it because it was close to lots of restaurants. We valet parked and that was ok. Not cheap but decent service. In short, the area is actually not safe after dark. We went out to diner at 8:30pm and got accosted at end of the block to the north from hotel on the way to restaurant. The guy was clearly dangerous and we were 3 adult males. We kept moving and he followed us, yelling and swearing at us halfway down next block and finally gave up. We got to restaurant a little rattled, ate diner quickly and looked for maybe a cab to take the 3 blocks back but none around. No police or any kind of security people anywhere. We walked a different way back as fast as we could. Got into our hotel by 9:15pm. Next morning had an appointment across the street. Got that done, skipped lunch and got out of town. Went to NYC last fall for a week with no trouble, been to KC and Minneapolis recently too. Scammers, weirdos and slightly scary people are no big deal if you keep moving and don't get combative or engage. Experienced Chicago for one day and is it off the list for the future.

Home away from home It was my home for six nights. Faultless. Central and well communicated. Just a comment. After my first night, I left the "Do not disturb" sign on the door. Despite that, my room was serviced and the sign removed and put back again inside the room. I was shocked and the hotel did not apart from a shy apology. A more senior apology could have been nice or at least, a small free drink at the bar as a token of good service. Ok, I could forgive that, and my stay was more than comfortable.
