Honest and truthful review the good, bad and the ugly The good, bad, and ugly. The good: Excellent location (nestled at the back of a shopping center. There's a donut shop, a sushi place, and Carl's Jr. Within a 10-minute drive to Viejas Hotel and Casino. Next to the freeway). Very clean rooms and grounds. A complimentary shuttle to Viejas Hotel and Casino. Very safe area. The bad: There is a long-term military presence there. They even have their own offices there. One will notice many of the soldiers have decorated their rooms and placed plants on top of their a/c. There are children's toys along with pool toys on the grounds. The motel resembles an apartment atmosphere. Kids running around etc. The ugly: They offered free breakfast. However, the dining room has a capacity of 4 tables with limited food options. They ran out of coffee twice when we arrived. It was so bad that we chose to eat breakfast somewhere else and pay for breakfast rather than eat there. Expensive! Paying close to $300.00 a night per night makes this place unappealing. You're basically paying the price for a 4-star hotel rather than a 2-star motel.

Alpine charmer - just a tad pricey The common areas of this hotel and the warm log cabin feel of the lobby are probably its high points. It has very welcoming feels pulling up, right off the freeway, and is located next to restaurants and shops that you can walk to. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms comfy and clean. Its very much 'market priced' at $250/night, but if you want to be in Alpine its a very good choice.
