Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Very clean. Easy check in/out. Very nice sized room…usually NYC rooms are very small. This was a full sized hotel room.

Perfect for Theatre Trip I typically do not like to stay in Times Square but I was traveling alone and did not want to walk very far after dark from attending the theatre each night during my stay in NYC. I never felt unsafe retuning to this property. The housekeeper on the 14th floor, Xiamara, went above and beyond to keep my very spacious, updated room with a king size bed extremely clean during my stay and she was also very friendly whenever she saw me in the hall. Other ammenities in the room included a mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker -- all very important to me. I would definitely stay here again, and yesteray tried to make reservations for 2 upcoming trips to NYC. However, this was no longer an option on the Hilton website, no one answered when I tried to call the hotel directly, and the customer service representative at Hilton I spoke with was unable to make a reservation for me and also got no answer when she tried to call directly. I have noticed on the Hilton website that there are new Hilton brand hotels being added in NYC. This HGI had scaffolding on the front of the building. I wonder if it will become a different brand? I hope so, because the location for theatre fans and the desired amenities could make this my go-to hotel on my frequent visits to NYC.

A convenient and homely place to stay I had stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Time Square for a week at the end of March. It is a nice place for visiting Manhattan New York. The location is convenient for both business or leisure. It is close to several subway stations, including lines C, E, B, 1, and 6. There are many choices for restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. One of my favorite is Bibble and Sip. The cream puffs and other desserts are delicious, and I would like to eat them everyday. For Broadway show lovers, several theatres are within walking distance. Hilton Garden Inn provides a clean and comfortable place for stay, not luxurious. However it feels homely. The front desk representatives and service people are professional and kind. The security is very good and it is important for traveling. One point I wish the hotel to improve is repainting the bathroom door, since the paint at the bottom is peeled off.
