Hotel at a Glance: Paramount Hotel - A Times Square Hotel

A walk through the Paramount is a walk through New York history. The 4-star hotel opened in the 1920s, not long after Times Square became electrified. The basement nightclub, Diamond Horseshoe, became a part of movie history as the subject of a Betty Grable musical in Hollywood’s Golden Age. And in 1986, the founders of Studio 54 purchased and modernized it. Today, it’s the official hotel of the Tony Awards, and its proximity to Broadway has made it a favorite spot for stars such as Daniel Radcliffe and Liza Minelli.

  • High-rise luxury: All rooms boast the same clean lines and bold colors, 32-inch TVs, and WiFi included with the facility fee. Be warned, the building’s old New York origins are reflected in the room size, so if you need to stretch out, opt for the deluxe king room.
  • Dinner and drinks are served downstairs at the Paramount Bar and Grill. Catch nightclub vibes in the iconic Diamond Horseshoe.
  • Catch a show: Rodgers Theater—the home of Hamilton—is across the street, and the Marquis and Lunt-Fontanne are on the same block.
  • Explore Midtown: You can walk to Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza, and MoMa in about 15 minutes from the Paramount.

Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is located at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of world-class cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year’s Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, Claude Monet’s waterlily paintings, and Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum’s outdoor sculpture garden, where dazzling installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Friendly staff. I did have an issue getting breakfast in the morning because the employee at the breakfast bar told me I wasn’t on her “list”. What she failed to tell me was I wasn’t on the list for free breakfast but I can still pay for food. When I walked to the front desk to ask about breakfast, they made it right by giving all guests in my party free breakfast vouchers. Rooms clean & comfy.

My overall review My over all review the rooms are not ss seen on your website, its very deceiving. The double bed room is not meant for four people cause there's not enough room for baggage The area is a great location.

Fabulous location Our stay was wonderful! The room was quiet and the staff was very pleasant. I gave a 4 star because the bathroom sink kept leaking every time we used the faucet other than that we enjoyed ourself.

Fantastic location Fantastic location , liked the safe. Biggest issue for us was we had booked a double room and it was probably more like a large single bed and there was simply no room to store or open 2 suitcases at once. Ice was available . It was quiet to sleep . No extras at all just a room and bathroom.
