The exterior of this set is very pleasing, but I was hoping for something similar to the blacksmith house with the interior. Everything feels very cramped and repetitive. I mostly have these sets as displays but if I want to interact the floors are not able to disconnect and they are very tight to get your hands in. The doorway on the red house is too small to even barely fit a minifig though and the stairs leading up to the tower are also too narrow. The single level houses are far better, like the cheese shop, simple yet a pleasing amount of detail. The exterior though is fantastic, this set really adds to the medieval atmosphere on my shelf.

I have been a Lego Castle fan since 1985, and I love these new castle releases from Lego. The Lion Knights' Castle (that was released just before the Medival Town Square) was the greatest castle set ever, so the Medival Town Square had a lot to live up to. This is a very nice set, and the overall building experience was very fun. This set also looks very nice on display. There are however some remarks that prevent it from being a 5 star set: (1)This set uses quite a few stickers instead of printed pieces. (2)The floor plans of the large building do not match each other when I close the building. There is also a large gap in the wall when they are closed up. It seems these are 2 half buildings that do not belong together? (3)The sets lacks minifigures and animals. The little girl has no parents, and the wagon has no horse or cow to drag it. (4)The hinge mechanism on the small building is odd in my opinion, and opens the set in a strange way. (5)In the The Lion Knights' Castle all bricks were perfectly placed, whilst in the Medival Town Square I feel the need to rebuild parts of the set. Overall it is a nice set, but it could have been even better.

We need more medieval sets like this one to build our medieval castles and kingdoms. It is yes a great set in terms of architecture, but not in terms of minifigures. I gave 3 stars out of 5 purely because, in my opinion, there is a serious lack of animals in this set. Also, the minifigures are a bunch of reused mixed and matched body parts. The minifig choice is ok, but not excellent. The minifigures could have been a lot better for the price tag.

I like the idea of the set and the features of the various artisans was wonderful but the overall build is very disappointing for the price of the set. For display or for play there needs to be consistency in the design. A standard door way and walkways is 4 studs wide this build was designed with some doors being the standard 4 but then the tower nad the red house is changed to only 2 wide for the steps and the door. The door looks more like an ironing board than a pass through. For the price of the set the proper measurements for the stairs and doorways could have been done correctly. Also the ceiling heights are the same way in one building it would be the proper height the. In another only a child Lego figure can be placed in the room. These lazy building techniques are acceptable for a small set but when it get to be over the hundred dollar range you owe it to the customer to not cheap out.

We’re sorry to hear your building experience with the Medieval Town Square set was disappointing. We want our builders to feel inspired and have lots of fun building their new sets. We’ll share your suggestions with our design teams so they know where we’ve missed the mark this time.

I am getting into Castle themed sets recently and I love architecture. This set is great, however I feel like it would have been cheaper to have by credit card stolen. I would have understood if this was a licensed theme with characters and a universe already established but this is Lego's own theme and should be priced appropriately.
So fun

My son loves Lego and owns 100s of sets. He has never had a set that was missing a piece. This set was missing 3 pieces and this was his Christmas gift. Very disappointing that he could not even build his Christmas gift on Christmas due to missing pieces. What a bummer.

The attention to detail is unsurpassed, there’s an hidden treasure drawer and even a bat in the tower. There are bees in the garden. The buildings are separate so can be arranged as one wants and will fit well with the Castle as part of the village, true to history.

Being a product of the 80s I am used to looking back and seeing the places and things that brought me joy are sometimes better in memory. But this set does something wonderful. It revisits those castle sets I remember and adds to them in creative and beautiful ways. I hope Lego continues with creations that revisit those early Lego sets so that I can share them with my kids for years to come.
