How it works

1. Calculate your product's value

Determine what you want to resell. Find out what products you can sell back to us on our list of eligible items.

Then, use the quotation tool to check how much in-store credit you'll get for your used IKEA products. IKEA Family members earn 15% extra on the Buyback service. T&Cs apply.

2. Receive your estimate

Look out for an email with your estimated quote and a number to reserve your transaction.

3. Bring it back to us

Bring your products (fully assembled) with your estimation number to your nearest IKEA store within 30 days of receiving your estimate.

Please note that Buyback is not available at IKEA Hammersmith.

4. Assessment and final offer

At the exchange & returns area, the condition of your products will be examined and a final price will be given. This can differ from the original estimate.

5. Get your IKEA refund card

You will receive an IKEA refund card to spend on something you need or love online or in-store.

You can use your refund card for an unlimited period of time from the date of issue, however, it can’t be used in our Bistros, Restaurants or Swedish Food Markets (IKEA Food).

6. Give your products a new life*

All products in good condition will be resold at no profit in our store's Re-shop and Re-use section.

*Products not in a suitable condition can be recycled or disposed of according to our zero waste-to-landfill policy.

Items that qualify should be:

  • In good, resaleable condition
  • Listed below as eligible
  • Complete and fully functional
