Gibson SG Standard Bass Heritage Cherry

Description
Gibson's SG Standard Bass has the legendary look, sound and feel that made it one of Gibson's most iconic basses. The SG Standard Bass features a short 30" scale length that is actually a big part of its signature sound. While the short scale length of the SG Standard electric bass is preferred by smaller players, it's also preferred by many for the strong fundamental tone for which this short scale bass is known. As expected, the solid mahogany body has deeply sculpted scarfing and the rounded profile mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard feel familiar and comfortable.
Dual Humbucking Pickups for Classic Gibson Growl
A pair of calibrated SG bass pickups (neck and bridge) with individual volume and master tone controls add further tonal possibilities. The dual humbucking pickups deliver the classic Gibson bass growl perfect for any music genre.
Playability and Comfort
The shorter 30" scale length is easy to play, particularly for beginners, and also enhances tone. The three-point adjustable bridge also maximizes sustain and tuning stability. The vintage-looking nitrocellulose finish gives it an authentic look and feel.
Road-Ready and Protected
The SG Standard comes with a hardshell case to keep it protected when on the road or in storage. The hardshell case has a plush interior with crushed velvet lining and sturdy latches to keep the bass secure.
An Iconic Bass for Any Collection
The Gibson SG Standard Bass has all the features of an iconic instrument. From its legendary design to its signature sound, the SG Standard Bass is a must-have for any bassist looking to add a piece of music history to their collection.

An Absolutely Fantastic Short Scale Bass!

I bought the SG Standard Bass because in 30 some years of thumping, picking, slapping, jamming and recording I had never played a Gibson SG bass. Not even and EB 1. So I ordered it expecting to not love it because I don't generally care for playing short scale basses. Wow, was I in for a treat! It's worth every penny over $2k. Great thick and punchy sound. I've owned it now for 6 month, it's one of my favorite basses. It's only weakness is when I do heavy bends the D and G strings like to pop off the nut. Otherwise it's awesome.
Dreams come true.

Short scale comfort with solid humbucking performance. This baby can keep the rhythm section rockin' and rolllin'. Easy to play and the factory set up was excellent. Love it.
Use 'flatwounds' on the SG Bass for an incredible sound.

RE: Gibson SG Standard Bass Heritage Cherry, do you have any time estimate as to when it will be available? Secondly, if I place an order now with a credit card, Guitar Center would not charge my credit card until said bass guitar becomes available? Or do you just charge my credit card when I place an order?
