I've been using Teva sandals for several year now, having owned a number of different models. However, these sandals are easily the best I've had.

Firstly, they are extremely light and you feel almost as if you aren't wearing anything on your feet. The build quality is wonderful, the straps feeling extremely secure and the base hugging the sole of your foot without any loss of sensation. I'm not big on barefoot running, but I have been running in these and found them incredibly comfortable in doing so - I was concerned that the loop around my toe might slip, or that the sole might catch the ground, but neither or these things happened and the sole felt secure against my foot.

But the big benefit comes for travelling. I was recently touring round Morocco, a mixture of trekking in the mountains, padding round Marrakesh and heading for the beach. These sandals were excellent for all of those terrains, and only when I was in the High Atlas mountains did I feel the need for my boots -and when I did, my sandals packed away so small I hardly knew they were there.

Overall, these are a very impressive product, a real return to form for Teva!

These sandals are light and comfortable, I will only be using them on holiday (no running for me!) but they are exactly what I was looking for, lightweight, easy to wear and something which will dry out in minutes if the I get them wet. I have never worn sandals with a toe strap before and while it took some getting used to is is not uncomfortable. In my opinion these are a better option than the normal rugged, rather chunky sports sandal. I previously had worn a faily minimal pair from Merrel and was having problems finding a replacement having finally worn these out after 10 years - the Zilch are perfect.

It's though a dangerous sandle as I sustained a cut due to the sharp front closing straps ...Teva this straps are surposed to be very soft without cutting edges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my second pair of these sandals. I've literally worn the other pair into the ground by wearing them constantly for a couple of years. They're expensive but very comfortable (especially if you're into the 'barefoot' feel). The various different straps etc are adjustable so they fit really well as you'd expect from a walking sandal, but they are much less 'heavy/blocky' feeling than most walking sandals. Not great when they get wet (inner sole gets slippery) but I think that's normal for a sandal.

These were fantastic. Comfortable, the toe strap loop meant it held to your foot really well, and unlike every other sandal out there, it didn't rub partly because of the positioning of the straps and partly because of the clever soft double material loop.
If anyone knows where you could still get some or anything similar, leave a comment.

I bought these sandles to go for a week in Greece. They looked ideal when viewed online, and I have had barefoot type designs in the past.

After only one day they rubbed a nasty open sore on the top of both my feet where the centre strap fits. This strap, like all of the straps on these sandles are very minimalistic. Most sandles have padding on the straps (with good reason). Here you just have rubbery strap with a thin hard edge. It's not only that the strap is thin, it's the angle the strap is across the top of your foot, it twists so the edge of the strap is at an angle across the skin of you foot. I tried the strap at various tensions, but all just seem to rub the skin. Even after a week I had to wear tape across the area of abrasion on my foot, because the skin never got chance to heal.

The toe strap is uncomfortable too, the strap edge is rammed into the gap between your toes when you walk, most sandles avoid a strap at this angle between the toes, and I can see why.

The sandles are light, and outside of the two main causes of discomfort they function well, good grip and flexibility.

Unless you have elephant skin I would recommend you try a sandle with at least some padding on the straps.

Loved them, they eventually wore out after 3 years (about 10 months of steady use in total). Wish they were still available, would easily get another pair.

if you like minimalistic, this is a great sandal. i was wanting something more than a barefoot feel, but something less than everything else out there right now... this fits the bill...(er, foot). cushioning is great, but still gives me a feel for the ground. i can walk all day & not have a problem. i have had my 1st pair of Tevas for about 15 yrs & even though they are still wearable, they lack any shock absorption on all day pavement walking; they just plain wear you out. These Zilch sandals are just what my legs/feet needed, lighter and more feet friendly, but still a good feel for the surface (whatever it may be). Now i usually like a size 10 USA on my feet (28cm) in Tevas & even an 11 on Brooks running shoes, but i found that on this sandal a size 9 1/2 USA (27.5cm) felt right. if you are unable to try on a pair 1st, i would suggest you order a 1/2 size down from what you normally get. try em; you will be amazed how natural they feel on your feet.
