    This won't suit everyone, but if, like me you think that most helmets look daft, you may like this one. I wear specs so I like larger peak to keep the rain or sun off and the width of this helmet means that the chin straps fit over them. It is warm enough for cooler weather but may be too warm in the heat - but living by the coast in Ireland it's rarely hot. The size adjustment is quick and easy - just a turn of the wheel at the back - and there is an led light in case you want it. I find it comfortable and practical as well as liking the different look when compared to other types of helmet.

    I purchased this helmet as I feel stupid wearing the standard type of cycle helmet that perches on top of your head like a carbuncle!! The normal standard type of helmet also is hopeless in wet weather (water all over your face!) and the same in hot weather as one has to wear sun glasses to avoid the sun...not to mention burnt ears. The Abus Metronaut helmet comes in extra large size and has the handy blinking light fitted at the helmet rear. I know from riding cycles that a peaked hat is great for shading your eyes and preventing rain on your face. The helmet material can be removed so you could enlarge the sixteen or so holes scattered over the helmet top..(I am presuming your a 'easy slow rider' like me, not a 'blast along' type you see too much of nowadays) I also made slots in the front rim to allow air from the 'peak effect' to pass through the helmet. I think you could fit material to the back of the helmet to keep rain and sun off your neck...in all a great buy!

    Got this helmet for 40 pound down from 80. It has an incredible stylish design, the visor is very effective in the rain, like wearing a baseball cap and it also comes with a very handy flashing light attached to it at the back. Just click to put the light on, click again for it to flash. Excellent add on. I'm female and I can wear this comfortably with my hair tied up high in a pony tail, it actually fits better this way than if I tie it back at the nape of the neck. Very impressed with this buy.

    Je recherchais un casque suffisamment "élégant'' pour rouler en ville, et avec une visière pour protéger mes lunettes de la pluie. Je l'utilise depuis plus de 6 mois, j'en suis enchantée. Sous la pluie, je roule sans mouiller mes lunettes. Sous le soleil, je suis moins éblouie. Le look est surprenant (certains pensent que j'ai mis un ''bombe'' d'équitation, mais c'est un vrai casque de vélo - d'autres trouvent que je porte un casque ''de playmobil ''), mais ce look est bien plus chouette que le casque de vélo classique. J'ai pris la version grise avec de fine lignes gris clair, cela me va bien, et je suis une femme ! Il faudra le tester en plein été, car ce casque est moins ventilé qu'un casque classique, c'est mon seul bémol.

    habe den Helm nun seit ca. zwei Wochen im Dauergebrauch und werde dauernd positiv darauf angesprochen.
    Besonderer Gag: unter dem Bezug steckt bei diesem englischen Modell ein Schalenhelm im Union-Jack-Design.
    Der Schirm ist so lang, dass man bei Regen kein Wasser mehr auf der Brille hat.
    Der Helm ist nahezu geschlossen (nur ein paar kleine Lüftungslöcher, die dann vom Bezug bedeckt sind), so dass er in Übergangsjahreszeiten und Winter wohl sehr angenehm, im Sommer aber sicher zu warm sein wird.
    Er sitzt recht tief im Gesicht, so dass eine zu weit vorgebeugte Körperhaltung zu Nackenproblemen führt, er aber dafür den ganzen Kopf gut schützt. (Aufrecht ist eh besser für den Rücken) Das Gurtsystem ist gut, nur die Schnalle löst sich leicht vom Gurt, wenn man die Enden nicht ordentlich abklemmt.
    Alles in Allem ein super Kauf und endlich muss Eitelkeit und Sicherheit sich nicht mehr gegenseitig ausschließen.
    Behalte den Helm nun sogar auf dem Schulgelände auf :-)
