Product description

The Reelight SL120 Power backup flash while your wheels are in motion, crucially they continue to flash for up to 2 minutes after you have stopped thanks to the built-in capacitor which stores current while you are cycling. With Reelight, you always have lights on your bike day and night! The permanently fitted magnet lights flash when the wheels rotate and work without the need for batteries. When pedalling your bike, friction free Reelight bike lights create their own energy by magnetic induction from the wheel mounted neodymium magnets, powering high efficiency flashing LEDs. These lights can't fail on you like battery powered systems, therefore they also make a great set of backup safety lights to compliment your setup. The lights are based on the electrodynamics induction principle, and work when you screw two magnets on the spokes and fix the light to the wheel’s hub. Electric current is then produced when the magnets pass the light, which incorporates a spool of copper wire. The light then flashes every time the wheel rotates. Simple, effective and ingenious. Reelight’s patented magnet lights are a simple, durable and reliable solution. The lights are easy to fit all you need is a screwdriver and an adjustable spanner. The self-sufficient induction dynamo, the high-quality light diodes and the powerful neodymium magnets guarantee quality and durability.

Bought these to replace the old dynmo ones, which made it hard to peddle and made a lot of noise.
These work really well, they don't make it harder to peddle and are silent.
Only problem i had is the front one didn't carry on flashing when i stopped, when needing to go across a dual carriage way.
There were easy to fit, just ahd to loosen the bolt on the front and back wheel and put lights in place, then tighten nuts again, then put magnetic part on the spokes, in line with the lights and then tighten the screws and your done.

Purchased and installed this for a friend. SImple to install. We mounted this set on a NON-DISC bike (Mates bike was nicked after we ordered these) and it STILL was easy to mount). They work perfectly once you get them adjusted. The adjusting is the only thing that took a little trial and error. Once set in place they work perfectly.

These are fit and forget lights. Brilliantly simple design , minimal drag from the magnets ( not like the old dynamos) - should be mandatory fittings for bike commuters in town. Variable flashing with speed - bright enough to stand out in traffic and cope with street lighting.

Brilliant lights. I use additional lights when it's dark but these are a great back-up for when battery opperated lights fail and they make great daytime running lights in dull weather.

very handy, you don't need batteries, worry to turn it on, or take it with you when you leave your bike - it is fixed permanently, nobody tried to steal it yet.
Works good in rain, looks quite rainproof, I dont know yet how it will behave in the winter - below 0 C degree and in snow. Light keep blinking for about 2 minutes after stopping the bike.
One drawback - when it is mounted on hub, it might be difficult sometimes to spot the light from the other side (i.ex. i got it on right, and driver on my left side might have problems to spot it, because it is on the other side of wheel), but reelight sells also models mounted on fork.
Anyway, it is cheaper on Amazon than in Denmark, where the company is located.
    I could recommend it.

simple yet effective. Bright light housed in darkest point of bike so cars can see you much easier. i got mine in copenhagen for £30 and EVERYONE has them. Think will catch on here once get cheaper.

I bought a cheap noname model with the same concept as the Reelights, but they only worked for about 1 year before water found its way into the electronics and made them verry unreliable.
So i look arround on the other bikes on the road and find Reelights everywhere. I ask arround and sure enough, no complaints about anything. One friend had his Reelight mounted about 3 years ago and it still works without problems.
I've now bought a pair (SL 120) and after installation, they just work - no fuss.
I recommend SL 120 or SL 150 if blinking lights is not allowed in your country.

These are great, I've been using them since January and I no longer have to remember to take my lights with me, check the batteries are ok, or remember to remove them so they dont get half inched. They work, they're fixed to the bike, they keep flashing for a couple of minutes when you stop pedalling. For road use they are legal lights. The only downside is if you are on roads or paths without street lights, as they really don't illuminate your way, so I have an extra battery front light as well.
