- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2025Size: Black CaseStyle: Roofing NailerVerified Purchasebought this a year ago, works very well. The double shots were almost all my fault as it push the gun to the roof, let go with my arm in the push, gun goes off and the kick back makes the nail not shoot fully.
Good gun for the price, make sure your compressor can handle the air demand.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2024Size: Black CaseStyle: Roofing NailerVerified PurchaseI’ve recently used the WEN 61783 Pneumatic Coil Roofing Nailer for a home roofing project, and it’s been a fantastic tool. Being a DIYer, I always look for equipment that combines reliability with ease of use, and this nailer definitely delivers.
What I particularly liked was its consistent performance. It drives nails smoothly and accurately, which is crucial when working on something as demanding as roofing. The adjustable shingle guide made the job even more manageable, ensuring that each nail was placed perfectly.
Another great feature is its ergonomic design. Holding and maneuvering the nailer was comfortable, even during extended periods of use. This is a big plus because it helps reduce fatigue, allowing me to work longer without strain.
One thing to note is that it’s slightly heavier than some other models, but the build quality more than makes up for it. The durability is evident, and it feels like a tool that will last through many projects.
In summary, this roofing nailer is a superb addition to any DIY toolkit. It combines precision, comfort, and durability, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to tackle roofing tasks with confidence.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2017Already have a Bostitch coil nailer that I've had for several years, and it is still the champ in my book. Problem is, there are shingling projects where having 2 nailguns will speed things along quite a bit. But a new Bostitch would set me back at least $200...more than I wanted to spend. So, I've always either found a friend to beg one off of, or rented a spare.
Figured, at 70 bucks, maybe this one would be worth it for the second gun. And hey, I was right!
Pros: Drives nails just fine. only jammed once in 10 squares of shingles...not a big deal. Design is simple, and at least appears reasonably durable, at least for a guy like me who does maybe a roofing job for a relative or friend every year or two. Will accomodate from 3/4 to 1 3/4 inch nails with a simple adjustment.
Cons: Noticeably heavier than the Bostitch gun l already have. The WEN isn't horrible at all, but if you go from one gun to the other, you can definitely feel the difference. Loading nails is SLIGHTLY more difficult than the Bostitch (but honestly, both guns are very simple to load.)
In summary: It is not fair to compare a $70 WEN with a $200+ Bostitch, but that's what I did. And, it came out Ok for the WEN. WEN is heavier, a little harder to load, and may not hold up for years and years like the Bostitch has (although maybe it will). If I did roofing to pay the bills, I would invest in a better gun. But, at the end of the day, the WEN works fine, and should work good as a "homeowner" piece of equipment. Plus, the blue and yellow color scheme is both eye-catching and easy to see in the grass when you accidentally drop it off the roof!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2017Needed to re-read my 16'x16' shed roof. Roofed about a third of it by hand. I'm not 20 anymore and my knees were killing me. So I looked online at Lowe's website for a roofing gun. I see all kinds and I see the Wen nail gun for cheap and I think there is no way a gun so cheap could be worth anything. But I saw so many good reviews on the gun and I wonder if I stumbled upon a gem?
I think I paid $90.00 for the gun and a box of coil roofing nails. It gets to me in 2 days (gotta love Amazon for that!) and I unpack it, drop four drops of lube into it like the instructions said and I go out back and proceed to shoot the shingles down.
I'm not kidding when I say I roofed 2/3rds of it faster than I did a 1/3 of the roof by hand. Nail gun worked like a champ. Shot half the box of nails and ZERO jams, maybe 3 nails I had to go back and tap all the way in with a hammer (think it was operator error I liftd the gun too fast) and maybe TWO doubles.
It was work the cost of the gun just for this job! It worked like a champ and now I have a gun to maybe do another roofing project but I'm not looking for one!
All in all the reviews are right this gun works great! Probably wouldn't hold up if you are a roofer but for the occasional job it worked like it was supposed to.
I don't know how they can make a good gun like this that works so well!
And just so you know I'm no green DIYer I'm a retired contractor. I roofed for many years in my much younger days and was a carpenter for decades so I know my tools and how to use them.
I would highly recommend this nail gun to a homeowner who has occasional roofing jobs! The right tool just makes the job SO much easier and faster!

Good stuff.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2022Size: Black CaseStyle: Roofing NailerVerified PurchaseI was VERY skeptical about purchasing this pneumatic roofing nail gun. The one I had just crapped out on me and I'm trying to get parts to repair with no luck. I bought this to replace a Porter Cable gun that I have had for over 10 years. When I went to price the roofing nail guns, I was flabbergasted by the cost. With inflation being as high as it is, the cost of the guns were almost double, in some cases more than double.
I came across the Wen roofing nail gun. I was only $100. I was amazed at how cheap it was. But of course, many bad thoughts went through my head wondering what could be wrong with it. But to my surprise, the tool turned out to be an amazing tool. I used to install a shingle roof, and also to install metal lathe on walls I'm plastering. It has worked flawlessly. No jams so far. The repetitive nailing feature is not quite as fast and fluent as my Porter Cable was requiring me to have a little more hand stroke when nailing multiple nail patterns, but it really isn't that much slower.
It even comes with a nice case. I will definitely recommend this nailer. And I may even purchase another as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars WEN 61782 roofing Nailer
After reading many reviews of roofing nailers, this one kept popping up as a great budget tool. I needed one to do the roof on my house. I completed 12 squares of architectural shingles without a single jam using Bostitch nail coils. It occasionally double fired but most of that I think was my fault and I did have to adjust the depth a couple times. Overall a great buy and now i have a nailer ready for tackling the garage roof in a couple years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well! For that price, better than rental.
Size: Black CaseStyle: Roofing NailerVerified PurchaseIt did what it had to do.
Used it to cover my carport. Success.
Depth adjustment is super easy.
Used it with DeWalt 1 1/4 nail coils.
The only flaw is that it quite often double nails. But it never occured that it damaged the shingle. The second nail is easy to pull out with a hammer. Also, it never jammed so far.
