Product Description

Amazon.com

Popular among house framers, Bostitch's framing stick nailer offers solid, no-fuss, reliable performance. With its tough aluminum housing and extruded aluminum magazine, this nailer is a sturdy piece of equipment, designed to hold up to falls and the inevitable beating tools take on a framing crew. The nosepiece's teeth aggressively grip lumber for toe-nailing. The adjustable depth control makes it easy to adjust the countersink with the gun, instead of the compressor. The nailer's deflector conveniently directs exhaust away from the user. We were impressed with how solid this Bostitch unit feels--it definitely has the burliness of an industrial-strength tool. But with its burly nature comes a bit of extra weight--always something to consider. The tool weighs just over 8 pounds empty, however, so some arm fatigue is probably inevitable. But the nailer's rubber grips are comfortable to hold, and the balance is good. This model shoots 2- to 3-1/2-inch, 28-degree, wire-weld-collated, clipped-head nails, and will hold a strip of 75. The nailer is available in contact or sequential trip. --Jonathon Tudor

I HAVE OWNED THIS GUN FOR SOME TIME AND USE IT LESS THAN ONE WOULD EXPECT------I AM IN THE REMODELING BUSINESS AND FRAMING IS MINIMAL ON MOST OF MY JOBS-----RECENTLY THIS GUN HAS STARTED TO DOUBLE FIRE AND HAS BECOME DANGEROUS. PERHAPS SOME OF YOU OUT THERE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS PARTICULAR GUN AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE YOUR OWN STORY WITH ME. IRONICALLY THERE HAS BEEN SOME NEWS IN HERE TO INDICATE THAT I'M NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. ...

This is one of the original light weight nailers. It does a decent job. I had one for several years. It is out classed by many newer nailers from Hitachi , Senco, Paslode and even Bostich. They have more power and less recoil than these older design nailers. They also have less of a chance of double firing on you. Believe me that can be very dangerous. I have the med clinic bills to prove it.

I just purchased the Bostitch N80SB to use in my ongoing home remodeling projects. My only experience to date has been with the finishing nailer variety. This thing is extremely powerful and should be used with caution. If not handled properly, it could inflict serious harm! I studded out my pole building style workshop/garage in preparation for adding insulation. The gun did everything it was designed to do. It was fairly easy to handle in spite of its size and weight. It does deliver the nail (sometimes twice if you're not careful!). Double fires can be a problem but I have to believe that such is the case with most nailers of this type. My suggestions for anyone that has never used a nailer of this type is to make sure that you have enough compressor to feed the beast and practice, practice, practice.

its a beast, once i got my compressor set it works great and sinks the nail just enough to be able to remove it if need be and not destroy the wood or have to dig a big hole

This nailer is an excellent tool, some of the best money I've spent. The only negative is the drive depth adjuster. I removed the nylock nut & replaced it with a wing nut to make adjustments easier. I'm on the board of the local Habitat For Humanity affiliate. When I'm not working with my nailer someone is always asking to use it. This is a well made, dependable nailer.

I know this isn't really a review but I was wondering what you all think about the pros and cons between the cordless Paslode nailer vs. all corded nailers? I have used both and like the overall speed with the hosed ones but to have one without the need for a compressor would be great. What do you all use and why? Thanks for your advice. Pete
