Texthelp Questionaire in Association with Teach Secondary Many teachers in the UK find themselves coming up against literacy challenges in the classroom. Quite often they are unsure as how to address these issues because they don’t consider it their specialism. This is why Texthelp is trying to understand what literacy means to you, the teachers and leaders across the schools system and curriculum. The goal is to gain a better understanding of how poor literacy levels affect teaching practices in a wide variety of schools and classrooms. The goal is to start and build a conversation around literacy across the whole school, in order to show that it has a role to play in every single subject. It’s to encourage teachers beyond the English classroom and beyond SEN to take an interest in literacy, and help promote and develop it. And it’s to explore ways in which all kinds of educators up and down the hierarchy and across the curriculum can help advance literacy levels. So, give us your thoughts on the #roleofliteracy and you could win a £500 Amazon voucher for books for your class.
