Welcome to the Smart Set. Every morning we bring you the gossip coverage, filtered. Today: Time Warner rumored to be angling for OK!, Ted Nugent has a new respect for Mark Zuckerberg, and a Bernie Madoff auction gets weird.

  • In a bit of magazine title horse trading, Time Warner reportedly offered between $30 million and $35 million to buy OK! magazine from current owner Richard Desmond. Desmond is apparently looking to sell, but there's no word as to whether the rumored offer meets his price requirements. Time Warner already publishes People so OK! would help it bolster its checkout aisle lineup. [Fishbowl NY]
  • After his pledge to eat only animals that he has killed, Mark Zuckerberg is getting some help from an unlikely place: Famous rocker and gun nut Ted Nugent. The "Cat Scratch Fever" hitmaker had a choice quote in Gatecrasher today: "I'm not so much surprised but excited that a man of that demographic and this era's power is coming forth and using the terms 'I'm killing my food. I'm slicing their throats.' That is perfection." No news yet on when the two will meet for a butchery class. [Gatecrasher]
  • And Nugent isn't the only pop star Zuckerberg is getting cozy with. Page Six has a report that the Facebook founder was out late in Manhattan on Saturday night, arriving at a club at 2 a.m. with an all-male crew of 10. They hobnobbed with will.i.am and adl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas, and when it was all over, Zuckerberg's crew had run up a tab of $4,000. One of his pals picked up the check. [Page Six]
  • The U.S. Marshals are still auctioning off Bernie Madoff's stuff, and they appear to be getting down to the nitty gritty. Not only has his belly button ring already been sold, Intel reports that "someone paid $4,600 for a photograph of an unidentified, nude rear end (very possibly Madoff's own!) and $200 for fourteen pairs of Madoff’s used underwear."   • Emma Watson has some news for those saying she left Brown because of bullying. Huffington Post takes us behind the Times of London's paywall to learn the Harry Potter starlet thought, in fact, the kids at her one-time university were pretty nice: "It made me so sad when all this stuff came out that I left Brown because I was being bullied. It made no sense at all. Brown has been the opposite. I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus. I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook" [Huffington Post]
  • Comedian Louis C.K. has some new clout thanks to his hit eponymous FX show, it seems. The ginger-headed jokester has even taken to pushing David Letterman around. After C.K. told Esquire he hadn't appeared on Late Night in 15 years, and implied that he wasn't welcome, Gatecrasher learned that the comedian had been booked to appear on July 28.
