Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson is an American singer and actress. She rose to fame in 2004 as a finalist on season 3 of American Idol. In 2006, Hudson starred in Dreamgirls and won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe award for her performance. Hudson won her first Grammy Award in 2009 for best R&B album; her second Grammy win came in 2016 for her work on The Color Purple musical album. In 2021, Hudson portrayed Aretha Franklin in the musical drama Respect. Following her performance in the film, Hudson was named entertainer of the year at the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards.
