The summer of 2013, bereft of an Olympics or a World Cup, has been a particularly slow one for sports. But the season comes with a silver lining: Thousands of students on break with nothing better to do than sit around concocting delightfully choreographed multi-bro swimming pool dunk videos.
Surely you're familiar with the sport, having leapt to slam a ball through a portable hoop before an epic splash-landing at least once in your youth. (If not, we're truly sorry you missed the opportunity.) More to the point, humanity is currently living through a golden age of swimming pool dunk videos thanks to digital tools such as Vine, Instagram and YouTube.

A couple of especially impressive routines made the Internet rounds two weeks ago, but they only whetted our appetite for more. Some deep (okay, pretty basic) Internet research turned up several more recent clips worthy of your attention.
So, without further ado, please scroll down for the definitive top 10 swimming pool dunk videos of the 2013 summer so far. Then add your own nominations in the comments -- we may just do a follow-up list come September.
1. True art. So many passes in so little space. We've watched it at least 20 times and our heads are still spinning.
2. The through-the-legs trampoline pass to start this off is almost enough to take the top spot. Almost, but not quite.
3. A baseball bat and off-the-diving-board front flip make this entry both athletic and innovative.
4. This one isn't so remarkable except for that first pass. That beautiful, amazing, pinball-esque first pass.
5. We normally wouldn't include a one-man clip, but this kid's willingness to sacrifice his body for Internet glory shows true grit.
6. These kids' pre-dunk introductions provide an unexpected twist and a humanizing element.
7. The kid who nails the initial backflip pass is totally pulling all the weight here. His teammates are going to have to step up if they want to rank higher on any subsequent lists.
8. The dunk itself isn't all that much, but hear those screams and hollers afterward? That's the sweet sound of summer right there.
9. Pretty standard stuff. But good job, good effort, kids.
10. What makes this rather pedestrian routine worthy of our list? It was posted by Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen from a barbecue he had with his incoming freshmen players. Next-level coaching.
10. HONORABLE MENTION: These bros apparently didn't have a pool to work with, but their use of a roof and a moving SUV deserves some love.
