clown doctor n
A clown who visits hospitals in a costume which is a combination of attire worn by a clown and a doctor to entertain (young) patients. Today is National Doctors’ Day in the United States, which recognizes the service rendered by physicians. On this day in 1842, the American surgeon Crawford Long first used general anaesthesia during a surgery.
