The only reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 is because I’ve never seen a listing price change as much as this! When I originally ordered it was $499- over a week went by and it hadn’t shipped yet but was now $399! So I canceled and reordered, saving me $100!!! Since then I’ve seen it change at least once a week- $474/$480 and no these arnt “sales”, the original listing price just keeps fluctuating!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2014Is it weird if I told you that when I tested this new lens on my new camera, I almost cried? I'm serious, there were almost tears. And I'm not a very emotional person. The lens is that awesome. It's a game changer. The bokeh is beautiful. I'm taking my amateur photography to another level and this lens is going to take me all the way. It's sharp, fast to focus, and a sturdy weight. It's well built and is easily the best lens I have and may ever have.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2014This is the perfect lens for portrait photography. The quality of the glass is very nice and leaves you with a great result in the end. Keep in mind that it is a prime lens so you won't be able to zoom in or out, but that's alright since the less moving pieces a lens has contributes to an increase in image quality!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2011I'm an armature photographer. I get better portrait results with my small children with this lens than I do the 50mm 1.4
This lens has a more natural look and is also good in low light.
****I have upgraded camera bodies. Went from Canon T2i to 5D MKiii. Lens is still good but now that I have L lenses too I realize lens is slow to focus. I still like it and it is a great value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Un must have, non dovrebbe mancare nel proprio corredo

5.0 out of 5 stars Best portrait lens that I had used.
Finally, I got my perfect portrait lens. Excellent picture quality especially in "Live mode" at f 2.8. No flash needed for internal shooting. Much better than cheap 50mm (especially China lenses). Best value for money. Old but robust design and moderate weight especially for my 200D. Sure it will stick to my camera for a long time now.
