Mine workes so far and no real heat issues. Drivers are the normal AMD substandard though. OCs well!
Thank you Gamers Nexus for helping to point out the original design flaws! I think they fixed it... Now if only their drivers got fixed too. I have not flashed the 5700 XT bios on it yet, but I don't plan to for a least a months worth of break in time. I lucked out and got it on sale for $299.99 and couldn't be happier. So now we just need to wait on AMD to push some good software. yay...You may want to get a NVIDIA 1080ti, 2060, 2070, or 2080 if you want a stable out of the box GPU. How ever if you don't mind having a hands on experience this is great. I would say this is the best mid-range "budget card."If you want to read my adventures so far with this product keep reading. I also put a help guide for problems I have had since installing this product. Should you have a problem with your product write a complaint to the manufacturer support page and AMD support so they can know there is a problem. Even if you return the product.Help guide for those with similar problems I have had, and included fixes I have used to solve or mitigate the issues I have had with this product to date:Cooling fans do not work or turn on. ->Set cooling fan curve to manual mode in Wattman or use a third party program to do so and enable "Force fan update on each period." Set the update period to 1-2 seconds. (1000-2000miliseconds)My screen flickers black, green, or both. ->Use AMD driver uninstaller program and reinstall drivers of varying ages/build number until one works. That still does not fix the issue. ->Do the same thing, but not install Adrenaline Software Suit. Instead extract the drivers folder out of the installer.exe (7Zip works) and install only those files. Use third party applications to control your GPU. (i.e. MSI Afterburner)My system crashes, locks into a green screen, or black screens, but it does not look like a snow storm before it does those things. ->Do the fixes stated above. My screen looks like a snow storm or lazer light show. (I have not had this issue yet but others have) ->Return the product for repair and wait, or return it and buy a different one. This is cause by physical defect in the product. My GPU runs hot. ->Run a custom fan curve in Wattman or with a third party program. My GPU runs hot but I do not trust the stock cooling system. ->Buy a water cooling system for your GPU and install it.I have money and don't want my computer to ever overheat. ->Custom make and install a liquid nitrogen cooling system. My AMD product is giving me more problems than I can deal with to make it work correctly. ->Buy NVIDIA. Their company has more funding and capability to test and fix problems faster then AMD can. You will most likely have fewer problems with their products. This sounds like too much of a hassle and I am willing to spend more money to avoid a large amount of these issues. ->Buy NVIDIA.I don't want any problems to deal with out of the box. -> Don't buy anything. Ever. Everything in this world has to chance to give you problems.Below is my personal encounters with modding this GPU.*Disclaimer* My Modding and Overclocking settings and experience may NOT be equal to yours. Each GPU comes out of a similar mold but is different. Overclocking is like gambling you win or lose with the odds being you are going to lose. If you can not figure out how to do what I am doing by Googling it don't bother attempting it. Everything I did with this card is by using Google searches and my brain. Also product manufactures may or may not turn a blind eye to the modifications you make to your equipment when it comes to warranty. XFX at the time of this writing approves of, and will not hassle you about, using custom water cooling kits on your GPU . Well, as long as you email them about it when you do it. Anything else you do they frown upon. Except the 5600 series cards it seems. They post "Pro Tuned" BIOS for you to use on their website.2/10/20 Update: I flashed the BIOS with the XFX THICC II Ultra RX 5700 XT 017.001.00.049.000000 BIOS and it worked great! I got about 12%(ish) more out of the card at stock settings. However the fan speeds now reads a permanent ~36000rpm(known bug). They still work and follow the custom fan settings I put in the system so no real issues besides the fan rpm is reported wrong. Even if you don't change the BIOS I recommend at least a change to the fan settings so that they come on sooner and ramp up slower. The factory settings are more for a toasty but quietly operating card.3/2/20 Update: Windows updated to build 18363.693 and caused my drivers to become unstable. I now get green and black screen flickering. So I updated my AMD drivers to 20.2.2 using AMD's driver cleaner program and Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to first wipe all traces of the old driver before installing them. It still flickered randomly whenever it wanted to. I uninstalled AMD Adrenaline wiped the drivers again with both uninstaller programs and only installed AMD actual driver files by extracting them from the AMD Adrenaline.exe installer. This stopped almost all the flickering issues, and my GPU cooling fans from working. Great, fix one problem start another. In order to fix the cooling fans not working I downloaded MSI Afterburner and set my own fan operational profile with it. Yes, the GPU fans do get loud when running over 75% max speed. I have a MSI motherboard so if this does not work for your problems that might be a reason why.3/6/20 Update: I have a nifty Overclocking tool now, of course I am going to use it! I played with my settings and spent a whole day just doing Overclocking testing with MSI Afterburner and their Kombuster software. My particular GPU likes to be under-volted to 1190milivolts (11.9V) to gain the best over clocking scores. I also was able to get my GPU to run stable in games at 2.08Gigahertz (2080MHz)core clock and with GPU RAM clocked at 1.9Gigahertz (1900MHz). My AMD Ryzen 5 3600(non X) CPU is factory Overclocked to 4.2GHz. At this setting my Kombuster score is 2565. I have no idea if this is good or not, but with factory settings originally limiting the card to a 1.75GHz core clock and 1.6GHz G-RAM I think it is. Average GPU temps during game play are 64-78C depending on the game and how "pretty" it is. I am still using stock GPU fans by the way. The weird thing is Overclocking my GPU like this made it MORE stable. I know right? Now the only time my screen flickers black is when I log into Windows and MSI boots up into my OC profile settings. I am providing screen captures for those that want visual aids of my best settings and results so far.

2/10/20 Update: I flashed the BIOS with the XFX THICC II Ultra RX 5700 XT 017.001.00.049.000000 BIOS and it worked great! The factory settings are more for a toasty but quietly operating card.

3/2/20 Update: Windows updated to build 18363.693 and caused my drivers to become unstable. I have a MSI motherboard so if this does not work for your problems that might be a reason why.

3/6/20 Update: I have a nifty Overclocking tool now, of course I am going to use it!

Let me preface this with terrible VRM issues on a budget b450 may have helped this card a bit in regards to cooling as I had to add two fans which inadvertently also provided quite a bit of chilly air for the GPU itself.

If you bought this card in December like I did you probably paid around $300 USD for it which makes it an exceptional value. I **did not** do a fresh windows install with the boot drive coming off an A320 with an rx580 yet there were zero driver or stability issues in _most_ games. The only anamoly I ran into was the occasional sparkle effect while looking at certain parts in the sky on certain planets in "The Outer Worlds". I have not installed the latest driver update since I've yet to run into any issues (Unless it is security related I'm a firm believer in "If it's working well there is no reason to chance things getting worse for 100 FPS instead of 97" and the driver set I installed when I first built the system were running fine save that occasional sky "Aurorus Borealis" effect in OW.

The dual Bios made the flash to an 5700XT easy enough without causing any stability issues in my case. Total system power draw on a Gigabyte b450 Aorus M (terrible VRM; games fine but crashes if Excel and Photoshop are open at the same time, that is how bad the VRM temps on the board were before adding direct airflow over it), an r7 2700 @ stock, and cheap 16GB Aegis 3000 cl16 is around 350 watts under full load, and around 325 while gaming after the Flash.

If you are having any heat issues from the card I suggest removing the cosmetic backplate as the plastic just traps heat. If you have good airflow it will also help cool the card much better, allowing the already quiet fans to spin even less. Watching various techtubers I was relatively surprised by this, and have actually checked on more than one occasion to make sure the fans were spinning as I couldn't hear them at stock speeds in Outer Worlds, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears 5, or Jedi Fallen Order, so take that for what you will. I wasn't lucky enough to get one of the old silicon cards so there was only a clock speed bump, no extra stream processors (I wasn't expecting them, but one can always hope ;^).

If you are switching from an AMD GPU I'd recommend using the Factory Reset and install newest drivers built into the Adrenaline software before worrying about removing older drivers with another DDU tool, though that should not be an issue if you are buying the card now since it will update to the latest version which have been given very good word of mouth from fans and reviewers alike.

Best of luck and I hope you found this information informative.

2 weeks in, the performance is great (always at 200fps with max settings and SSAA in Doom 2016), the temperature and noise are not. This can get fairly loud and hot despite the immense size of the cooler (it barely fit in my mid tower case and is brushing against the drive cage. It also fully covers most of my SATA ports). The cooler is still better than stock, and I was able to get it on sale for a very reasonable price. Overall I am happy with the purchase, but just be aware of the downsides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Performance for Cost

I'll start by saying I bought this card back in April 2020 when it was going for £339.98. The performance of the card is exceptional. I have it paired with a Ryzen 2600x and I'm getting no less than 120fps when playing RDR2 max settings (med shadows). Temperatures can get a little high, with mine peaking at around 90 degrees at times. It can get slightly noisy when using the stock fan curve, with some manual tweaking I've managed to bring it down to a comfortable hum when running resource hungry games (would be unnoticeable if you're wearing a headset).

5.0 out of 5 stars Preis-Leistung spitze; bei Volllast kühl
Reviewed in Germany on May 4, 2020

Do 5 stelle unicamente per prodotto.
