Product Description
Game More. Watch More. Share More.
No more taking turns doing the things you love. The Archer C3150 V2 keeps everyone online at the same time, no matter what they’re doing. Powerful XStream processing, 4-Stream, NitroQAM and Airtime Fairness all combine to make your Wi-Fi faster than ever. MU-MIMO lets your router talk to many devices at once, and Smart Connect makes sure each one has the fastest connection possible. With its advanced Wi-Fi technology and innovative antenna design, the Archer C3150 V2 creates powerful Wi-Fi coverage and lets more than 25 devices stay connected at the same.
XStream Processing for Smoother Performance
- With XStream processor architecture, the Archer C3150 V2 dedicates one processor to each of its Wi-Fi bands. These processors handle Wi-Fi traffic, freeing the router’s dual-core CPU to take care of everything else.
- All this extra brainpower keeps your Wi-Fi running smoothly so everyone in your home can enjoy what they love most, whether that’s watching Netflix, gaming online, streaming music, or all of the above.
NitroQAM and 4-Stream for Faster Speeds
- 4-Stream and NitroQAM work together to get your devices running faster. 4-Stream adds an extra data stream to each Wi-Fi band for four total streams per band, and NitroQAM helps each stream process data more quickly.
- Combined, these two advanced features increase speed by 25% overall, letting you watch movies in 4K and game online at the same time without slowing down your Wi-Fi.
MU-MIMO and Smart Connect for Better Connections
- MU-MIMO lets the Archer C3150 V2 talk to several devices at once, and Smart Connect automatically places each device on the best available Wi-Fi band.
- With both working together, everyone can hop online at the same time without having to wait, and each device can always get the best connection.
Airtime Fairness for Distributed Wi-Fi
- Older G and N Wi-Fi devices are slower and need more time to send data than newer, faster AC Wi-Fi devices. With Airtime Fairness, your router equally divides attention between newer and older devices improving overall Wi-Fi performance and reliability without letting older devices limit your network.
Quality of Service for Assigning Bandwidth
- QoS lets you assign more bandwidth to your favorite devices, keeping them running smoother.
- If you love watching Amazon Prime on your smart TV or game console, you can give more bandwidth to both so your favorite shows load quickly.
Link Aggregation for Doubled Wired Speeds
- Team two of the four Gigabit LAN ports for a single device for a faster wired connection with a combined speed of up to 2 Gbps.
- Double the connection speeds to a Network Attached Storage (NAS) for even faster streaming and data backups than ever.
Built-In VPN Server
- When using public Wi-Fi, establish an encrypted VPN connection to your router to enjoy safe and secure internet access.
- Browse the web in a coffee shop, download important files while waiting for your flight at the airport, and access private router-connected hard drives at home from afar without worry or paid subscriptions.
Easy Firmware Updates
- The Archer C3150 V2's Web UI provides easy access to the latest available firmware so you can always keep your network up to date. The router will immediately notify you if any critical updates are available for download.
Innovative Antenna Design
- Four dual band antennas send strong Wi-Fi coverage, letting you enjoy what you love anywhere in your home, from your favorite spot on the couch to the comfort of your bed.
Media Sharing
- USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports make it easy to share photos, videos, and music on your home network.
- When away from home, a VPN allows you to securely access NAS drives and other devices connected to the router through USB.
Intuitive Tether App
- The Archer C3150 V2’s web interface has been optimized for mobile devices, making setup on your phone or tablet simple. When your network is up and running, you can download the free Tether app to easily adjust network settings or manage your home network while away.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2019As said above, this works great and the range is fantastic, due to myself having a lot of questions I want to answer what I was questioning before buying... Sorry in advanced I'm going to be a bit long-winded here but I hope it helps you =)
With that said, I have FiOS gigabyte service and was having huge drops of speed with the fios wireless routers. From the box (bypassing the router and directly hardlined with a short 5e cable) I was getting (per the Verizon speed test) around 960 down and 880 up. Which is great. However when using their wireless router and literally 10 feet away from it I was getting 50/20 to my laptop. Even worst, on the other upper level of my house I would lose connection completely in the back two rooms.
We have a 2400 square foot house, 2 levels. Our internet comes into the lower level which is half below grade. For records, this is not where you want to put wireless because the signal spans out and down like an umbrella, Ideally you want to put your wireless router in the middle of your house at an upper location. Due to the way I designed the home, I put a server room in the back corner of the lower level, and ran CAT 5e to all rooms for hardwired connections (all computers and smart TV's were directly plugged in with a LAN line) I work with very data heavy projects, so hardlines have always been a requirement and the WIFI was only really used for tablets and cell phones.... however now I, and all the people in my house, are becoming more reliant on wifi connections and this slow signal was just wasn't cutting it.
Wanting to start using my laptop for work at home more, I started looking around for different options and tried a Linksys and a netgear system I had from my other office and neither were much better. Range just cut out and speeds never came anywhere near what I needed.
After quite a bit of shopping around and reading I settled on this TP-link and I am very happy I did.
The install is very straight forward and I had absolutely no connections issues. This is literally a 5 minute process from the time you open the box, till its up and running.
Pre-setup:
From the Verizon box (not their Verizon router, but the white box on the wall) I used the that CAT5E cable (LAN line) coming out of the box and tested the speed before plugging into the new router, Please note the time I tested this I was actually only getting 300/200 so I called and Verizon "reset the box" and my speed went back up to what it should be (9XXgbps/8XXgbps).
Make sure you test this line coming in before you go any farther. You need to make sure what is coming into your house is what you are supposed to be getting before moving on. The speed test for Verizon is Verizon.com/speedtest if your getting slow speed coming in... it will be multiple times slower by the time its broadcasted through wireless.
The set up:
Next, once my speeds were confirmed coming into my house with what I was supposed to be getting, I opened the TP-link box, pulled out the Wireless router and plugged that same LAN line coming out of the Verizon box into my wireless the router and plugged the router in with the supplied power cord into our UPS and surge protector. You will no longer be using the wireless router by Verizon (or comcast or cox or whatever ISP wireless device you have) Once powered up it was broadcasting signal within 30 seconds. I connected, set up admin password and updated the Network name to what I wanted and changed the password. Very straightforward and very easy to do.
Then the moment of truth, time to test the wireless internet speed.
You will always have some drop with wireless, as this is not a dedicated uninterrupted signal coming in as with a cat 5e or 6a line, but you should be able to get up to half the speed of a dedicated line. Meaning I should be able to get up to 400mgb/ps speeds on wireless.... Not the 50/20 that I was getting with Verizon's router...
Anxiously I went to Verizon's speed test, and sure enough... 400mgb speeds!
Finally I have real wireless internet in my home!
But wait, the test wasn't over, I needed to confirm the other issues...signal strength and distance... because this test was only from 3 steps away form the router. So I went to the other side of the house, great, speed was the same. Then I went upstairs, awesome, speed was the same.... then I went outside on the deck, fantastic, speed was the same.... Then I went out back and sat on the hammock... I was still getting over 300mps!!!!
It wasn't until I was 70 or so feet away from my home that I started to have signal drop, grant it... this is with this router installed on the opposite side of my home in a level partially below grade!
Once I knew everything was working well I went back to my server room and plugged my switch into the router. You have 4 plugin options here, same with most wireless routers.
My set up is this, I have a switch for all the smart tvs and kids rooms. This switch then plugs into the router taking up 1 space. Then I have three dedicated lines from my office, my master bedroom, and our family room (For when I want to work comfortably) that all take up their own line. These I can also confirm when tested individually all still get the full speeds they should be getting.
This router for the price is excellent and I am so glad we bought it... I cannot vouge for the longevity of the router, as it was just installed, but if you see no update from me, assume its still working perfectly =)
Very Very Happy with this and hope it helps you make up you!
**Update 8/8/2019:
Okay 5 months of use in, and it literally has not disconnected once or required a reset.
Literally no Wi-Fi issues at all the entire time I have owned it. I can now truly confirm this is a great 5-Star router!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2017****UPDATE! 5 GHz Wifi dead after 4 months !
Tried factory reset and all fixes but three's no more 5 Ghz Wifi. Going to have to RMA and get replacement from TP-link after only 4 months in service :(
TP-Link AC3150 Wireless Wi-Fi MU-MIMO Router has a lot of potential that is wasted by horrible software implementation.
This could easily be a 4 or 5 star review if a few minor bugs were fixed. Unfortunately the router is crippled by idiotic software implementation that compromises security and provides less features than my tp-link router from 5 years ago.
Pros:
- Router setup is typical and easy
- Great WiFi coverage! Upgraded from tp-link TL-WDR4300 and the new coverage is vastly improved on both bands.
- So far no connection problems and reasonably good speeds all around.
Cons:
- Securtiy flaws! Admin password limited to 15 characters and software actually prompts users to create weaker passwords. And my router from 5 years ago had no such limit! Sorry I just don't understand any possible reason to force a less secure network. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like implemeting that character limit is actualy more programing work than leaving it out! WTF? Security is CRITICAL so probably a deal breaker for me. If its not secure i'm looking for something else. Minus 4 stars!
- Loss of features compared to older devices. For example my TL-WDR4300 from 5 years ago had bandwidth control for the guest network. Sadly the AC3150 lacks this, and other features my old router had. Its a shame because it just seems like very poor software implementation on what otherwise seems to be good hardware. This just results in too many downgrades and steps backward when things should be improving and moving forward. Minus 1-2 stars for this piece.
TP-Link please fix these issues and you'll have a vastly improved product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing router and very powerful!
Router was easy to install and the setup in both modes basic and advance is easy to navigate. Unfortunately there is no option to setup VPNs on the router but if you are a normal user looking for a router easy to use and good coverage for you home this is an option to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars TP LINK AC 3150 review - worth my money
Bought it yesterday night, Installed by afternoon. Moved from ASUS AC 53 crap to this ac 3150. Well it’s a big jump in performance.
1. My you tube video start instantly
2. Earlier I was not getting stable signals on 2g band in far bathroom. Now even in 5G band I’m getting a stable signal .
3. I play AOV on my iPhone. Earlier the latency was fluctuating, now its stable.
4. Setup was a breeze in 10 min I was done.
5. Speed - well this is the big one . Earlier I maxed out on speed test at 88mbps on wifi 5g, now I’m getting 170 mbps on same internet connection on 5g band with this new router.
So, it’s turned out a good upgrade. It’s a june 2019 manufactured Box for me. Great packing. Firmware came updated. Have opened the box and pasting a photo of it.
VERSION IS 2.2 !!
I like it. I hope it lasts at least 2 years and I’ll be happy, as I stay on sea coast and things wreck fast here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Demasiado bueno
A mi me encanto 100%

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and affordable
I have the V1 model of this router and already works very well. This one with the cloud service is a way better and the stability of the signal is incredible.
