    This laptop was heavily discounted on cyber Monday and I scooped it up without thinking twice. I’m so glad I did (A brand new, 2019 Macbook was almost 300 dollars cheaper here than from Apple, thanks Amazon!) I have owned lots of Apple products and this laptop is my newest addition. As a MacBook Pro user previously, I was afraid I would miss all of the ports, SD card slot, etc. The thunderbolt ports on this help keep it thin and very lightweight, and it SO easy to hold without sacrificing screen size. I travel next week for the holidays and I’m sure my back will thank me for not lugging around a heavy laptop anymore. Let’s talk about features. Coming from a 10 year old MacBook Pro that I also really loved, I am enjoying the new butterfly keyboard as well as the retina screen. The display is beautiful and makes watching videos or even just browsing a wonderful experience. I would imagine photo editing or video editing is also improved although I rarely do those things. I had a MagSafe charger on my old Mac that I loved and while I admit I do kind of miss that, I understand that to keep the profile thin, Apple had to go with a smaller USB-C charging port. The Touch ID is also a nice feature, and it is fast. I can also unlock my Mac with my Apple Watch which saves even more time. Not necessary, but definitely a convenient feature. I also appreciate the color choices; I went for gold to match my phone and watch and all of them are just beautiful. I enjoy that it stands out from the traditional black or silver laptops you see everywhere else. Battery life is awesome. I’m getting 12 hours on one charge with heavy use. The computer is fast and responsive, and really just a huge upgrade from what I was using. This makes my old MacBook Pro feel like a dinosaur :) Overall, I feel that at Amazon’s price point I got an excellent deal on this laptop. It is perfect for my needs and would be great for a student, someone who travels often, etc. I would recommend if the lack of ports really bother you, there are several dongles here on Amazon for ~$10-$15 that have all the ports you need. I would much rather do that than carry around a heavy laptop 24/7, but I know that is a personal preference. Would I buy this laptop full price from Apple? Probably not, which is why I stuck with my old laptop for the last 10 years. But if you can catch a good deal here, this device is well worth the price and a wonderful upgrade.

      My last MacBook Pro was purchased in 2009 and is still working albeit very slowly as compared to the speed of this miracle book! I was very careful to read the reviews and listen to other's comments before pulling the trigger on this one. I have retired since my last purchase so my needs changed and that is why I went with the Air version. I am very glad I did. It is very robust, very fast, lightweight, runs cool and can be set up with the user's needs in mind (I pulled several of the native apps off to make room for grandkid photos, travel data, iPhone contacts and to install 2019 Office for Mac).

      You can buy a lot of lightweight tablets but I prefer a true OS and the installed Catalina 10.15.3 is a great choice. The 256GB SSI drive is my first and I am blown away by the speed. The Pro Air runs cool and quiet and ALL DAY on a single charge.

      When it arrived it asked to be placed on the same wifi as my 2009 model and I gave it permission to harvest the passwords, login info, iCloud downloads, photos, etc. Seamlessly it was completed in 1 hour. Imagine my delight to not have to go to every favorite site and log in again and install my info. Did I say blown away?

      I bought the USB/HDMI/USB C conversion pigtail so that I could continue to use my 1TB external hard drive and attach to multi media output. It is something you need to consider. Well worth the modest price.

      I am happy to recommend this awesome laptop. No out-of-the-box flaws were experienced. Nothing but seamless, quiet, very fast, and dependable operation. I would give it 6 stars if I could...

      This is my third macbook and my second macbook air over 15 years. I love it. Light weight, fast and beautiful in space grey, which looks like gunmetal. Migrating from my old one, which I had for over 8 years, was painless and only required setting the old and new systems next to each other and entering a passcode. The only thing I need to get used to is the keyboard travel is less than my old system and is slightly nosier. My son has been using my original macbook for the past few years, He took it off to college giving me an excuse to buy my first macbook air and it is still running, I did do some upgrades, memory and SSD. The only failure I have ever had on any of the 3 systems has been the power cord breaking after years of use. Three times. In the same timeframe my wife has gone through at least 5 PC laptops from Dell, Lenovo and Asus. All died! I use Parallels virtualization to run MS office and other apps on the macbook air and they run fine. My last macbook air is still in use in my home office but it is becoming resource limited with the newer software, 4GB of RAM is no longer enough.. I am a committed mac laptop user, although I normally use my Intel NUC for my daily work flow. The macbook air is my mobile work station. The lack of ports isn't a problem for me. I use a small USB hub when I need more than 2 ports which is pretty rare. These 3 systems are the best and most reliable laptops I have ever had.

      This is a high quality apple laptop. This is the third Mac laptop I've owned and the first air-- I like this much more than my last, more powerful MacBook pro. I bought this for my programming needs as I wanted a sleek and user friendly product and this accommodates everything I need with ease.

      I feel obligated to write this because other reviewers are leaving reviews of older models they didn't even purchase this calendar year, which is just not right and irresponsible considering how dependent people are on these reviews.

      If you want a cheaper option, they're out there but if you want Apple quality and don't mind the extra money or being forced into usb C, which I think is a step up from the magnetic adapters (and is a generic port), then you aren't going to be disappointed.

      Tragic update:

      I spilled a large coffee on this beauty earlier this year and it understandably died. I unfortunately was too cheap and confident to opt for the warranty, which would have been awesome, so it's been dead for about 4 months. I decided to plug it in and see what would happen and it actually fired back up and I was able to browse the internet and even access my local files. It is/was super well-made.
